Dear Alli,
Life is a game we have to play as it goes, though sometimes it seems we aren’t always playing on the same team, even when we really wish we were. Besides, if we all were, then there really wouldn’t be a game at all, it’d just be practice. And practice isn’t much fun.
I believe everything lately has all been a cause of the hunt that now is upon us. Not that a hunt is bad, but since it was mentioned, everything seems to have thoroughly exploding in our faces.
Last winter, as we have all come to recently learn, a number of orphans in the land of Guardia passed away due to the cold and hunger. Now, this is a terrible event in and of itself, one which the High Council has now been working to rectify. However, it seems one person jumped the gun and then a few others jumped on him with claws drawn.
I’ve spoken with both sides, but it seems one is not relenting (and with very good reason), while the other is being stubborn and not listening to those around him. It’s been rather trying the past few days, and last night, it more or less came to a head at the High Council meeting. I won’t go into details; when I woke up, I found a short letter from Brier that she was moving on.
I will miss the darling so much, because I know she won’t be living here in the lands. Also means I get to take more trips out to visit her! It’ll be nice and exciting! Plus, from what she has spoken of other times, I believe I know where she will be going, so I’ll be more than happy to visit out on the island, seeing as I already have a few friends out that way.
Ah, the excitement of life and how it always seems to be the longest and wildest ride we’ve ever been on. I believe I’ve also come to the fact that it is now time for me to move on and out of the Guardians Inn. So I am going to start the process of speaking with a few home designers and have a small house built for myself out near the border to Aerenwe, so the trip to the Cathedral will be a shorter one for me.
But now, though, I must be off to concentrate on other such duties and getting all of our paperwork in order so that nothing falls through the cracks.
